Jacquie and Leanne both believe in stopping to smell the roses... or look and laugh at big rocks. Jacquie and Leanne both bring their personalities out in the way they lead programs and coach their clients; you'll never feel like they're telling you what you want to hear. Rather, you'll know that their delivery is educated and genuine and ALWAYS in your best interest. More on Jacquie and Leanne below.
Jacquie knew as a teenager that she loved to help people learn, grow, achieve their best and reach their goals. She's been leading and coaching since she was a teenager on the ball diamond, basketball court and in the office.
Jacquie turned that passion and experience to leadership coaching and facilitating leadership programs 15 years ago. Over the years, she would see people shut down at some point during the leadership training or coaching thinking they were about to have a group hug or sing kumbaya in rounds. Fortunately, it was around the time where the neuroscience around leadership, teams, the work place, and home, was becoming more accessible to normal folks. That started what will likely be a life long journey to help people understand how leadership isn’t a soft skill. It is about science!
Jacquie has a BBA from the University of Central Oklahoma, and MBA (Strategic Planning and Organizational Effectiveness) from the University of British Columbia, is a Results Certified Coach with the NeuroLeadership Institute, a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation, and holds several certifications from the Academy of Brain Based Leadership and the NeuroLeadership Institute.
Neuroscience is an underpinning to everything Jacquie does from creating workshops, layout and structure of training, spacing between coaching sessions, the types of activities, questions asked, tools etc. You won’t get through any training or coaching she does without getting some brain basics. She brings her decades of leadership experience, upwards of 3200 coaching hours, education, and personal learnings (failures and successes) to every encounter. All this in an effort to help raise YOUR mental performance!
Jacquie is certain that her purpose in life it to help people grow. She'll challenge your thinking, ask powerful questions, and poke holes in your veneer in a way that is kind, respectful, and supportive. Give her a little, and you will get a lot in return.
A passion for leadership in service to others led Leanne to evolve from seasoned communications expert to leadership coach in 2018. Leanne's authentic, empathetic approach helps support her clients as they discover their purpose and values, dive deeper into what drives them, and work towards finding the path forward.
A born and raised Calgarian, Leanne has spent the bulk of her career working in the electric utility sector with a focus on crisis and issues management, leadership development, employee engagement, and culture. Leanne earned a Bachelor of Applied Communications (BAComm) degree from Mount Royal University and is a Results Certified Coach (RCC) with the NeuroLeadership Institute.
When she’s not supporting her clients with their journeys, she is laser-focused on the non-profit foundation that she launched in 2015 to support families in Alberta with critically or terminally ill children affected by CHD (Congenital Heart Disease) through contributions to research, community, care, and hope.
A second generation Calgarian, Deanna has spent most of her adult life in pursuit of ways to improve the lives of others.
In another century, Deanna worked in EMS but gradually shifted her focus to the non-profit sector. The draw for Deanna to that line of work was the knowledge that she could provide individuals with new tools in their toolkit, but ultimately, they were the ones that would choose to build a better life.
Signing on with the team at Breakthrough Consulting was an easy decision. She continues to help people build their own toolkits, empowering them to live life as the best versions of themselves.
